Hudson Crew R-25 (904) Summary
The Hudson Replacement Crew arrived at North Pickenham during June. They came to the European Theater short a navigator. As the Crew was preparing to leave Florida, Lt Bennett was grounded due to an illness. We don't know who took his place in getting them to England.
After getting in some in-house training, the Hudson Crew was assigned to the 859th BS to fill the empty Crew 904 spot. By our count, the Crew flew 10 missions and an aborted one. We don't know who was their navigator. One report is that Lt Cridling was assigned to the crew after their tenth mission.
The Hudson Crew transferred on 10 Aug 44 to the 467th BG, 788th BS. They flew 8 missions plus a handful of trucking missions (flying gas and supplies to Patton) before being reassigned to the 791st as a Lead Crew.
